'Paint with Wool' and Needle Felt your own Highland Cow  ~ with Jane Makes

Spend a lovely day with this local tuto Jane, learning how to paint with wool to create a beautiful Highland Cow's head, created with real wool fibres on a fabric background.


Over the day you will be shown how to create a 2D needle felted picture of a Highland cows head. Not only will you take home your beautiful felted picture you also get to keep the tools you used! so you can continue your new found love of felting.
Jane will guide you through the tools & techniques needed from different breeds of sheep wool to which fibres work well and why. Also which needles to use for different finish’s and effects and how to correct mistakes.


You will in be working on a fabric background with a pre drawn image of the Highland Cow,, which is then placed on a foam mat and using professional felting needles you will be shown how to build your picture through the manipulation and layout of fibres, from colour choices and blending to the beautiful intricate detailed effects to bring your 'Coo' to life! :)

Jane originally trained as a seamstress before returning to Education to Study Art & Design at the University of Wolverhampton. Her career path has taken her from Seamstress too Designer to teacher. She now follows her passion for teaching by running various classes in the area, with a specialism in pet and animal Portraits. Her work has been exhibited in galleries throughout Cumbria and is now available by commission.
