'Expansive Landscapes in Acrylics' with Tim Watson    Beginners and intermediates.

We're thrilled to introduce this talented local artist who spends much of his time running across the Cumbrian fells, bringing a great knowledge of this local landscape - that he then depicts on paper in many surprising and beautiful ways!

Tim will start the day with a quick step by step - ( pperhaps using the camera / screen) where student follow the techniques and create their own test piece. Students will be guided through the application of paint, colour, and particularly texture, including a wash over the create areas of light and dark- and further texture. By the end of the day you should be leaving with your test piece as well as one or two pieces of work, depending on how quickly you work. 

Tim will be bring his boards and you will be working on panoramic size paper between A3 and A4.

Please bring:  Newspaper to cover your desk. Please bring £15 cash for the tutor on the day to cover all paints paper and brushes, the boards and various options for other details if required. Please also feel free to bring any favourite photographs or reference materials.  Please also bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes.

The venue can provide jam jars, and kitchen roll. 

Of course students can also bring their own paper and acrylics paints if they prefer. Along with a palette, various brushes, something for note taking, plus any of your own sketches or photos as reference.  Feel free to bring your own travel hairdryer if you wish. We will have two available for use to help dry the paint.

 About the Artist  Tim works across a range of media, including acrylic, watercolour, inks and plaster collage. His mountain landscape work is well known and collected throughout North Wales. In 2019 he returned to live in Cumbria with his partner Cathryn to focus once more on his art at Brightside Barn in the beautiful Eden Valley. His latest landscape work is now becoming sought after locally, particularly those featuring Blencathra, the Lake District, Askham Fell, the Pennines and prehistoric megalithic sites.
