"The Charcoal Hare' ... The Art of Expressive Animal Portraiture' with Sarah Stokes
The Charcoal Hare' with Sarah Stokes
We are delighted to welcome back much acclaimed, professional wildlife artist Sarah Stokes, joining us for a fascinating long weekend in October 2026 of charcoal study and painting.
Sarah's visit will begin on Friday 9th with a day course focussed on drawing this beautiful Hare portrait in Charcoal.
In the morning you will get to explore the importance of tone, as we draw a full face depiction of the Hare, capturing its wary gaze as it looks straight at the artist. We will use charcoal, concentrating on creating convincing fur, eyes and expression.
After a tasty home made lunch - hopefully in the garden - we will finish this characterful heathland friend creating a beauitful finished piece with detail and poise.
As this is a collaborative workshop between Sarah Stokes and Quirky Workshops, we will be sharing payments. NOTE there are slightly different T&C's regarding cancellations, which are detailed below **
